We finally made it to the Grand Canyon! Spring break 2021 was a big trip for us. We went to Page AZ and enjoyed seeing Lake Powell and Glen Canyon Dam. Our campground had a fun climbing area right behind it and the family explored while dinner warmed up. They are the specks on the mountain above the RV. The hike to Horseshoe bend was nice. It was nice to break up the trip with stops along the way. We had a hiccup with inaccessible roads at the farm near Lee's Ferry, but it turned out ok. We had a nice picnic and hike and saw people leaving on month long excursions on the Colorado River. It was fun to have a different experience to see the Deer Farm near the Grand canyon. There was a interesting variety of animals who had mostly been rescued. Not sure any of us will feed deer from our hands again. Our campground outside of the Grand Canyon felt a little rough but we made it through the hour and a half long line and into the park the next morning on Jared's birthday. I think I may have visited the Grand Canyon on my birthday as a teenager. As we drove, we read a fun story about Brighty a famous burro who lived in the Grand Canyon when Teddy Roosevelt was president. There were many many tourists and more lines inside the park, but we saw some wildlife and beautiful views. The hikes were so spectacular and so worth it although Covid and minimal internet service made the trip a little more challenging. On the way home we stopped at Coral Pink Sand dunes and the Dragon's Belly. We camped outside of Bryce Canyon and visited the park the next day. It was so much quieter and more accommodating than the Grand Canyon visit. We loved the snow on the red hoodoos and had a great time exploring. We were so grateful for a successful family adventure!
