A couple weekends after Utah Lake, we went to Payson Lakes with the Beus' family and the Allens. Grandpa had hoped to join in as well, but Grandmother Harston had taken a recent turn for the worse. She was no longer alert and interative. And she also had minimal food and water intake. We were afraid she would pass away during the trip. Grandpa stayed with her each day and hosted family who came to visit her. We visited before we left and then went ahead with part of the family to stay for a few days at the Payson Lakes campground. Of the 3 lakes, we were grateful that one had enough water for boating and swimming. We fished in one lake our first evening and found a great hike to a waterfall on day 2. This was our first trip without hookups, and it was fun to rough it a bit. It was also great to be with family!
We were so excited when we got the first news that they were on the plane
to Germany. Tyler said they barely made it to the plane as it closed the
gate...
