Oregon 2019

Baby's first sucker!  Keeping her occupied on the long drive.  a quick stop on the Columbia River.
And then we made it to the coast!  It was amazing to have condos side by side with the whole family and our windows overlooking Depoe Bay.  We had continual opportunities for whale watching.
I have to apologize because I don't have photos with Grandma and Grandpa and all the cousins.  I'll get the digital copy of our big group photo shoot soon.  Our silliest family photo at the visitor center at Yaquina Head.  We visited the lighthouse and tide pools on our first day.  Cake for Maren!
We went to church services in Newport and stopped at a bridge on the way home to try to get a family photo.  We love the trees and green everywhere, even though it's tsunami zone too.  The boys did a deep sea fishing trip with the men.  Michael had motion sickness the whole time despite our best attempts to medicate him adequately.  We ate two kinds of really good salmon for dinner that night!  We did some souvenir shopping on Main Street while they were fishing.  We spent some time at Siletz bay digging for clams.  Michael had flown home to participate in trek by this time.  We spent an afternoon at an amazing hike to Drift Creek Falls.  The round shape close to the trunk at the top is an owl watching us.  It felt like the Garden of Eden.  The clams Jared had put on ice so they wouldn't close.  Then he brought them home to cook for dinner.  Jonathan's kite.  Three orca whales we spotted in our inlet the day we were leaving.
What an amazing trip with people we love to a place we love.
(It was the same condo Jared and I enjoyed on our honeymoon 16 years ago.)
Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls on our way home.
