I couldn't believe it!
We love concerts and it's been a long time since our last one. --Going way back to our first date, we went to musical performance at USU. So my friend, Anne Marie, knew just how to treat us.Our show was music from films and TV by Henry Mancini. It is so fun to hear the live performances with vocals and full orchestra. Most of the music was familiar to us and a few of our favorite numbers were "Moon River" and the theme from "The Pink Panther."
The concert started at 8:00 p.m, so we left the kids at home ready for bed. Our night life is usually so minimal at this stage of life. The whole thing seemed like a dream.
We were some of the youngest people in the audience. And the show was definitely geared to the older generation of our retirement city-- but that was OK because Jared and I are a little outdated anyway. After the show we left the parking lot in our well-loved student car with all the other luxury vehicles. Events went on as usual the next day at home but with a few new tunes to hum. It was great to step outside the usual stresses and enjoy things we usually only dream of.

Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.
