Summertime with Gershwin

Michael happened to choose the song Summertime, by Gershwin for a new piece to learn this summer.  It's part of the soundtrack of music from our family embedded into these summer memories.

Leisel's graduation from Upstart -- She is one very smart cookie!!
Tessa wanted to make a stand to sell snow cones.  She made a plan and bought the supplies.  It was successful, but mostly fun.  She'll need a bigger snow cone machine to keep up with her entrepreneurship.
Our next door neighbor had a birthday party and turned 5.  We spent a lot of time with him throughout the summer!  We love his mom and dad, Jared and Candice, too!

Cousin Asher!
Leisel is so glad that her cousins are getting dogs since she still doesn't have any pets.;)

Playdates with friends
Fun in the sun before they closed the slide at the Classic Fun Center.   My goal was to help them have a good time although we stayed close to home quite a bit.

Jenny hosted my kids ALOT while I finished projects before the baby came and invited them over ALOT after as well.  We were grateful for fun cousin time and pool time!

Jared also had took kids for fun outings for dates and to the park.
And I was able to take care of all the last minute cleaning, organizing, nesting, and finishing work in the basement.
We sold the old van and bought an 8 seater!
Now we feel more ready for baby to come.
This was a night watching friends perform at Kingsbury Hall.
I had been feeling like labor would begin all week and I was pretty nervous to go places or to have Jared leave town.   Within an hour of getting home from the ballet my contractions became regular and the baby was on the way.  Whew!  The way unplanned/unscheduled events work into the planned things of life is a little nerve-wracking and a little miraculous.
