North Mesa Hike

Jared and the boys finally made it on the Mesa Hike at the Peterson reunion and it was amazing!
They left early morning before sunrise.
They didn't know half of the group, but everyone was from the reunion... so related somehow.
Jared described the desert landscape on the hike as something on the moon.

The first part of the hike was just getting across the flats to the base of the mesa.
Uncle Derek is a pro hiker and super fun!

Our guides, two of Jack's sons, knew the best route and led the group up certain ravines and accesses that weren't too steep.

Yea for adventure!  Jared was the photographer but got a shot of himself too.
Lots of amazing view points on the way.

 another shot of the moon

It's awesome to do adventures with these great hikers!

On top of the mesa ready to hike across to the homesteader cabin

A horny toad Jordan found.
They also tasted some edibles - wild onions.

 Headed back down

 Victorious!

Jared got really excited about this orchard property for sale at the base of the mesa. :)

Caineville and Midway with Clarks

We made it to our extended family reunion near Capitol Reef in August.
The Clarks planned their summer reunion for the following week in Midway.
Dinner at the lawn at the homestead.
Rock hunting and looking out at the Mesa

Picking peaches in Fruita

Maren was a trooper at 5 weeks with all the driving and the heat.

Poor Leisel reacts terribly to the mosquitos.
She was so swollen, her eye would hardly open.
Tessa made friends with some cute second cousins.

We checked out the Homestead Crater and rode the Heber Creeper.

Maybe you can tell this was quite a party!

The live musicians roamed through the train.
And the leader of our car had great music and funny jokes.

A few stops along Main street in Park City

Swimming at the Condo

I was inspired by a visit to the Heber Grove Orchard and Farm.

Tasty family meals and a trip to the fish hatchery.

Thanks for the fun times Grandma and Grandpa!
