Summer post baby

Maren's arrival somewhat divided our summer in half.  It was a bit of a low key summer before and after.  The highlights for the boys was Africa and for everyone lots of cousin time.

Ely was baptized!

This is one of the last gatherings at Grandma's house.  She was working on packing up and putting it for sell.

Blessing Day and More Maren

With Rachel in town for Ely's baptism and Chad's family visiting as well, we decided to crash their party and bless Maren in church.  She was 10 days old.  I think she came to earth knowing that her life would have a bit of chaos from the start.  Somehow I didn't get a special shot of Maren on her blessing day, although Amy lent us a beautiful white crocheted dress.
It was such a blessing to celebrate with family and give Maren a name and blessing right away.

Six Clark Kids

Maren Sage

While the boys were in Africa, we were frantically working at home to finish projects in and prepare for the new arrival.  Jared postponed one business trip a few days before the delivery.  Labor began late June 20 and our healthy miracle arrived early June 21st.  I labored at the hospital for a little less than an hour.  She was ready to make her entry to the world.  We made our last deliberations in the labor and delivery room and finally decided on the name, Maren Sage Clark.

Grandma and Grandpa H brought Michael and Jordan, but we missed the chance to get a photo with them.
I loved seeing Jonathan's interest and attentiveness to his baby sister.  It bordered on adoration.  I told the girls he had been waiting for her to come from Heaven.
