Rachel's Seattle

I got to take a trip! I did-- not me and the kids, just me...
My sister Amy left her kids home too and we went to see our big sister Rachel and her new baby, Ely.
She is a great mom, very carefully taking on the new role of motherhood with a precious first son.

We did spend some time getting acquainted with Ely and doing new mom things at home, but Rachel made sure to show off her amazing city.

Rachel and Rob live in West Seattle and pass through this industrial area to get to work in the city. It was fun to see the drawbridges and shipping containers packed onto huge ships. The geography of Puget Sound is so different from desert Utah or tropical Florida.

We had great weather on our walks through the neighborhoods and could usually see Mt. Rainier floating way out in the horizon.

Most interesting to me were all the different kind of trees. Rachel called this one the "Dr. Suess" tree. Washington is called the Emerald state.

Here is the most famous public market in Seattle-- wow!
I don't know how to sum it up. We couldn't even soak it all in in one visit.

Dinner at Ely's house. Amy filled Rachel's freezer with seven or eight meals. We ate really well! This is lettuce/cilantro from Rachel's garden and sweet pork burritos.

Tessa did come along with me too- She loved Jolene and the whole party!

We went to a nearby park the morning before we flew home. So beautiful!

Thanks Rachel for letting us enjoy your home and your city!

Jenny and Jeana

When Jenny and Jeana were in town Amy took us on a beautiful hike.
Albion Basin at Alta ski resort
I loved getting shots of the scenery and the hikers.

Love these ladies and their kids!
